IMO if you have a DHC, arcanite rifle, core marksman rifle, or epic drop ranged weapon from MC, then don't get the X-Bow. Peacemaker is like the same thing with slightly less attack power. The spear is not a great primary weapon for a hunter, yes it gives like 00.4% chance to crit, and 40 attack power, but something like a barbarous blade gives 01.0% crit chance and 60 attack power. It has higher aimed shots, and multi shots then the gorewood bow. For this all you have to do is hang around AV enough, plus you get several other rewards in the process. Now assuming none of the above was true, that X-Bow is really freaking nice, I see people comparing it to a gorewood bow, the gorewood bow is a quest reward for like a 6 stage quest that takes 5-10 people to accomplish. Needless to say it was way better then my current weapon.
However, I chose the Polearm, because having a high stamina weapon is useful in places like Molten Core, and this polearm has high stamina without sacrificing agility.
When I got the quest done in AV I already had a Barbarous Blade and a Dwarven Hand Cannon, so neither of these weapons really interested me. Comment by ThottbotAs a hunter, I'll put my two cents in on the Polearm vs X-Bow debate.
